Hyakken-gura
The Onemichi hiking route to Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine is considered one of the more challenging routes, but hikers and pilgrims are rewarded with spectacular views at the viewing spot Hyakken-gura. It is said that you can see 3,600 mountains from here, and the view of the setting sun is especially beautiful. A small Jizo statue protects pilgrims on the route. The route runs between Koguchi and the Ukegawa trailhead and takes around 5 hours. There are no restaurants along the way, so take some drinks and snacks for the trek.
